Retail Store Manager

Our client is a family run leading convenience retailer in the Greater Dungannon area who require a Store Manager to join their team. This position is an opportunity to be at the helm of a fast growing modern business, leading and inspiring the team to achieve results.

Reporting to the Store Director duties will include:

• Maximisation of in stock position & maximise use of all promotional activity – price & event
• Maximise achievable gross margin, and to attain actual margin to agreed targets
• Active management of store layouts, product range and own label participation
• Organise stock takes when required and to ensure full completeness and accuracy of the reported stock.
• Detailed agreement of store manning and rostering, recruiting where necessary and in line with budget
• Liaise and communicate with the Proprietor, updating on the business operation as required
• Minimise all controllable costs to agreed targets, and proactively investigate all opportunities to effect savings.
• Timely and accurate completion and understanding of bespoke management compliance and audit paperwork
• Maintain consistently high store standards via regular store audits
• Develop the team within a culture of positive customer engagement & a high standard of customer service
• Manage & maintain company assets to minimise damage/loss to the Company; and the correct utilisation of security systems
• Competitors  To remain fully aware of local competitor activity
• Legislation – keep abreast of changes and updates to ensure the business remains compliant with both commercial and employment legislation
• Coach and mentor – develop, educate and nurture your people, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to deliver excellent results and high standards across the business
• Be fully aware of store issues and performance on an ongoing basis and carry out any other reasonable/lawful duties and functions as requested by the proprietor.

Criteria:

• A passion for retail with a proven track record for delivering a fantastic customer experience.
• Proven experience in the areas of stock control, people skills, cost control, rota planning, HACCP implementation
• At least 2 year’s recent experience in a busy convenience or supermarket at Manager/Assistant Manager level within a sales-based environment with strong experience of margin and profitability
• Creative flair and eye for detail, ensuring that excellent presentation and standards are maintained.
