Due to the continued growth our Sales & Distribution client in the Cookstown area are seeking to recruit a Purchasing Coordinator.

Reporting to: Purchasing Manager

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for purchasing of all components and consumables.
  • Ensuring all components are purchased competitively, on time and that goods are received within expected lead times.
  • Monitoring top components and ensuring items that are running low are ordered and received on time to prevent run out, considering supplier lead times.
  • Continually monitoring stock of all items, ensuring all are within acceptable limits, set out within the system.
  • Sourcing components from various manufacturers as and when required, including new or changing components.
  • Ensuring items are purchased in line with supplier price list, that discount levels are correct, and quantity breaks are correct.
  • Forecasting of all critical items, reviewing usages monthly and updating forecasts as necessary.
  • Negotiating better prices/service across all suppliers, particularly those with high usage.
  • Organising collection with couriers/shippers of all items where required and monitoring delivery of same.
  • Matching POD’s to invoices and placing on the system, ensuring all prices agree to purchase order price and quantities received, any discrepancies being raised immediately.
  • Filing supplementary declarations with TSS.
  • Assisting with shop counter in relation to small sales and repairs if and when required.
  • Any other duties to compliment the role.

Essential Criteria

  • Coming from a strong background in a similar industry, the successful person must have practical knowledge with experience in mechanical products to quickly familiarise themselves.
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working in a purchasing department, supporting a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literacy skills to include Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephone and email communication skills.

Hours:

  • 7:15am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday
  • 7:15am – 3:15pm Friday
