Compliance / Health & Safety Manager

Our client are a leading Dungannon based engineering company with a customer base throughout Europe, they are currently recruiting a Compliance / Health & Safety Manager for their busy factory.

Reporting  to the Operations Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for –

• Collaborating with both employees and management to enforce H&S policy and provide guidance on all H&S issues
• Reviewing and improving current processes ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978
• Creating, promoting and maintaining a positive H&S culture across all business functions
• Managing the company training matrix to ensure all employees are trained and competent in their roles by identifying gaps and booking inhouse and third party training providers·
• Support the business by developing and delivering strategies and policies, identifying areas for continuous improvement
• Provide accurate and timely reports to all relevant parties
• Investigating any near misses /accidents and producing reports with recommendations
• Completion of all inhouse and 3rdparty H&S audits, producing action plans and highlighting any perceived risks
• Produce and communicate safety alerts / toolbox talks and safe operational procedures.
• Work collaboratively with Human Resources for the effective onboarding of new employees
• Point of contact for third parties such as HSE, Environment agency, Mid Ulster Council
• Prioritising employee safety and wellbeing by co-ordinating annual and follow-up Health Surveillance
• Supporting the compliance of ISO, paint permits, VOC, emission reduction plans.

Criteria:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Good organisation skills
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels
• Ability to work independently.
• Experience in an engineering setting and NEBOSH certification desirable.

Standard hours of work are Mon-Thurs 07.00-16.00 and Friday 07.00-14.00 (Part-
time working option will be considered)
