Job: Civil Engineer in Lisburn

Our client, a well-established civil engineering and construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their growing team on projects based in the Hillsborough area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to take ownership of site engineering activities while working alongside an experienced project delivery team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all setting out and surveying duties on site.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Liaise closely with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of site records and documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues as they arise on site.
• Support the management and coordination of subcontractors.
• Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Ensure all engineering works are delivered accurately and within programme requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or construction projects.
• Proficient in setting out using modern surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Valid CSR/CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Full driving licence.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on large-scale civil engineering, infrastructure or reinforced concrete projects.
• Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and site documentation.
• Previous experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
