Job:                Senior Design Engineer

Location:     Cookstown Area

Our Engineering client based in the greater Cookstown area, are currently recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer to join the team. This is a full time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking new projects through the entire design process from brief to production.
  • Working as a team and communicating with all stakeholders of the company.
  • Project managing multiple projects with your line manager.
  • Reviewing designs and updating products to meet and exceed the customers’ expectations.
  • Supporting multiple departments within the company from Sales, Purchasing, Fabrication to Assembly as required, ensuring information is being passed successfully to the appropriate departments.
  • Lead as part of a team the creation and updates of technical design documentation such as engineering calculations, drawings both technical and hydraulic, engineering change notices, service manuals and of material through the process of designing, prototyping, and reviewing mechanical components.
  • The role will also involve taking ownership and accountability of design or improvement projects as directed. Continuous improvement of activities ensuring product, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring compliance for all projects in terms of relevant specifications standards and safety regulations.
  • Seeking innovative and creative solutions to help bring about change and service improvements.

Criteria:

  • Relevant degree in engineering or similar related discipline with extensive experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience of Screening machinery.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and awareness of electrical systems.
  • Previous experience working within a team to deliver projects within agreed quality, cost and  timeframe targets.
  • Ability to track and manage multiple projects.
  • Extensive experience in the use of 3D modelling design software, Creo, AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Previous knowledge of heavy, manufacturing, production processes and PDM systems.
  • Appreciation for manufacturing and production techniques.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
