An opportunity for a Logistics and Trade Compliance Coordinator to join a hugely successful and expanding automotive company.
The Logistics and Trade Compliance Coordinator is skilled and experienced in Logistics and changes brought on Trade/HMRC declarations due to Brexit. This role will be responsible for ensuring logistic’s of import and export customs and trade compliance declarations are met with emphasis on new rules relating to goods movement in and out of NI
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Ensuring import permits/licences are in place to allow for the smooth importation of goods where required.
Co-ordinate with Suppliers and Freight Forwarders that consignments are correctly declared and supporting export and import paperwork is provided.
Responsible for Global & Brexit related customs compliance.
Updating of Government information/legislation or organisational information and requirements and sharing this with the team and Group.
Ongoing review and business support for the impact of Brexit.
Develop and implement customs and trade compliance plans
Ensure the business compliance with a variety of governmental, regulatory agency and corporate policies HMRC etc including EDC and SND Declarations for all Goods In.
Working knowledge of Incoterms
Work collaboratively with cross-functional process owners (e.g., Logistics, Planning, Finance, Procurement, and Manufacturing), while maintaining independence and objectivity to ensure effective internal compliance controls and procedures. Seek improvements in business processes impacted by the trade regulations to increase business efficiencies and to strengthen the compliance position of the company.
Act as a subject matter expert for all trade compliance matters within the business including but not limited to HS classifications, valuation, country of origin, and free trade agreements.
Lead harmonized tariff classification efforts for the region using external and internal service providers in collaboration with colleague’s logistics, and engineering.
Experience in assigning commodity codes of products.
Working knowledge of Incoterms.

Organised, accurate and a strong attention to detail.
Experience of working in a busy and diverse team environment.
Good problem solver who works methodically, to tight deadlines within a pressurised environment.

Strong Use in Microsoft excel and other systems.
Passion for Customs and Compliance related issues.
Knowledge of HMRC and EU customs rules, and all other import and export rules and regulations
Good interpersonal and communication skills
High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
A sound knowledge of Import and Export processes
Knowledge of country specific customs requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Secondary or Higher Education
Ability to identify, research, and analyse trade and customs compliance issues relating to new and current products.
Good inter-personal skills. Able to communicate at all levels across the business and work closely within the team.
