HR Manager

Our busy Engineering client in the Dungannon area require a HR Manager to join their team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Human Resources function and ensure that the HR function is managed in context with the overall company strategic objectives and that the HR function operates to a high degree of excellence especially with regards to performance management.

Lead the HR Team in the successful implementation of the HR function and projects. Manage the HR Team and co-ordinate, monitor and plan work programs to ensure successful delivery of all core HR function

Duties include:

  • Take a lead role in ensuring the coordinated provision of all core HR functions (eg Recruitment & Selection, Attendance Management, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Policy Development, Change Management) and the consistent application of associated policies, processes and procedures.
  • Design, implement and maintain a Performance Management system that provides advice, support and guidance to employees and managers, setting annual measurable KPIs agreed with senior management at both individual and departmental level, to be reviewed twice yearly.
  • Provide programs of training and development, as and when training needs are identified for individuals, supervisors and managers and other personal professional development programs as appropriate.
  • Provide and ensure the provision of proactive specialist advice, knowledge and support to supervisors and managers in relation to the effective application of HR policies, procedures and terms and conditions.
  • Advise and assist senior managers in the review of current and future staffing requirements, including assisting with the planning and implementation of staffing structures and job design.
  • Take the lead role in any employment litigation issues and ensure the development of a professional working relationship with the company’s employment Solicitors.
  • Develop and review policies and procedures to ensure that they reflect best practice and to ensure that such policies are implemented consistently and effectively.
  • Analyse and interpret policies and procedures in order to influence the actions of supervisors and line managers across the company and to assist them in meeting procedural requirements.
  • Lead and deliver on a variety of HR projects and issues allocated by the Finance Manager in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that HR assistance and advice is provided by the HR Department in an impartial manner in accordance with all relevant Codes of Practice, Standards, Professional Guidelines, Policies and Procedures.

 

  • Preparation of budgets for the HR Department, managing income and expenditure in line with budgets ensuring accountability and good governance.

 

  • Champion the HR function and develop a broad range of skills across HR in order to deliver a modern, flexible and effective service ensuring that the HR function is adding and creating value to the company

 

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree level qualification in Human Resources.
  • 3 year’s experience working within an HR Management role to include:
  • Proven track record of working in a large manufacturing organisation;
  • Successful management of an HR function and advising stakeholders on key operational issues;
  • Taking the lead role in consultation and negotiation delivering positive outcomes;
  • Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures in accordance with legislative requirements and Best Practice;
  • Effective management of staff
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation and its practical implications.
  • Demonstrable generalist knowledge of the full range of HR functions.
  • Strong leadership style with the ability to lead change;
  • Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Well-developed analytical, innovative and problem-solving abilities;
  • Good organisational, planning and time management skills;
  • Strong computer skills and competency in MS Office applications.
