Our Omagh based Engineering client are currently recruiting a Company Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity to join a flourishing company with an experienced and knowledgeable finance function already in place.
The Company Accountant will play a critical role within the senior management team, providing financial support by ensuring full effective management of the finance department, including forecasting, reporting, and budgeting.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Full management of month end and year end accounts.
- Review, approve, sign off payment of all supplier invoices.
- Leading and providing mentorship to the finance team.
- Finalise and submit all HMRC PAYE/VAT returns on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Oversee monthly GBP and EUR bank/supplier reconciliations.
- Liaising with external auditors, ensuring compliance.
- Conduct reviews to general accounts ensuring accounting standards are maintained.
- Support year end reporting with external auditors.
- Provide tax and financial accounting advice.
- Ensure continuous improvement within finance department.
- Other Ad-Hoc duties.
Essential Criteria:
- Fully qualified Accountant in ACA, ACCA, CAI, CIMA, or relevant accounting body.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Proficient with of all MS Office programs.
- Competent user of Sage50 Projects and Sage Payroll.
- Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Multitasking and time-management skills.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates a desire to continuously develop.
- Good Interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience working with WorkPal.
- Experience with EU/Non-EU invoices and VAT treatment.
